Passport
The applicant's passport must:
- Be valid for at least six months after the expiry date of the visa
- Have at least two blank facing visa pages
- Be free of covers
Photograph
You must provide a photograph. Upload your photo and we will print it to the exact specifications required for this visa. Follow https://cibtvisas.be/photo-service to upload your photo.
Alternatively, you may provide one colour, passport type photograph that meets the following strict criteria: be taken within the last three months against a white background and printed on high quality photo paper; be 35mm by 45mm in size; provide the full frontal view of your head with your face centered in the middle and displaying a neutral (non-smiling) expression. You may wear no headwear except for religious purposes. Your photograph should not be affixed to your application and may not display evidence of adhesive or staples.
Letter of Introduction
You must provide a Letter of Introduction from the applicant's Belgian employer. Be certain your letter meets the specific requirements of the consulate by using our Digital Introduction Letter service. Visit https://cibtvisas.be/bcl-order to get started.
Alternatively, please use the sample Letter of Introduction provided here and use the exact language and format provided in order to prevent a rejection and possible delays with your visa request.
All Letters of Introduction must be addressed to the Embassy. The address of the Embassy can be found here
In addition to the language provided in the sample, your Letter of Introduction must:- Give a detailed description of the purpose of the trip
- State the VAT identification number of the company
- Give a brief description of the company's business activities
Letter of Invitation
A letter from the company to be visited in Russia. Copies are accepted. The letter must:
- Be printed on letterhead paper of the Russian company and be written in Russian.
- State the 10-digit INN number and date of issue
- State the name of the traveller, exactly as it appears on your passport
- State the applicant's passport number and the expiry date
- State the duration of stay and number of entries
- State the type of visa
- State the business activities of the Russian company
- Be signed and stamped (round stamp) by a Director or CEO
- Be addressed to the Consulate in Brussels
- Include an acceptance of financial responsibility for the applicant's immigration costs and travel-related expenses
Applications submitted with this type of invitation cannot be subjected to an urgent processing time and will therefore be processed on 7 or 8 working day service for a single or double entry visa. A multiple entry will take 12 days
Or
The company to be visited in Russia must request an official Letter of Invitation (LOI) from the Federal Migration Service (FMS) in Russia. This is a brown A5 format document. The application requires the original letter.
Or
An electronic invitation (Telex) requested by the Russian company to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Russia. The Telex reference number, which will be forwarded to the Embassy altogether with the application information, needs to be indicated on the visa application form

A written statement from the travel insurance company of the traveller. The statement must:
- Indicate the date when the agreement was signed
- Indicate the policy number
- Indicate the name, address and phone number of the insurer
- Indicate the medical services and transportation covered by the policy
- Indicate that the beneficiary is covered for emergency medical evacuation and repatriation of remains in case of death
- Indicate that this policy is valid internationally including the Russian Federation or valid in Europe and in the Russian Federation
- Include the insurer's original signature and stamp
- Indicate a medical liability cover of at least €30,000
- State the full name of the applicant, exactly as it appears on your passport
- Be written in English, French or Russian
The embassy requires an insurance policy certificate showing that the policy is valid for the length of visa required. Please request one statement per applicant. This may be copied and the original can be kept for further use

Visa Application Form
One completed and signed application form is required. The form must:
- Be completed online at: http://visa.kdmid.ru/
- Be printed and signed by the applicant
- Include the applicant's full address, telephone number and email address for question 19 & 20
- Include the TIN number at question 11
Please note that when completing the online application form you must ensure that you have selected that you will make your application at the "Russian Visa Centre (Brussels)". Multiple Entry Applicants
A multiple entry applicant must provide proof of a previous visa for Russia and at least one stay in Russia in the last 12 months. This proof must be presented in the form of:
- The current or previous passport containing the previous visa
- A stamp on this previous visa, showing that the applicant has visited Russia at least once in the last 12 months
- When this visa is not present in the current passport, a copy of the visa and the passport identification page is acceptable
Holders of a second passport
Applicants who hold a second passport must provide the original or a copy of the passport accompanied by a declaration stating that there is no valid Russia visa in the second passport.
Rush Visa Applicants
Be advised that the 4 working day procedure for all entry types and the 7 working day procedure for multiple entry visas are only applicable to applicants holding an original and official invitation from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

If the stay is longer than 2 weeks, the Embassy requires a detailed day to day intinerary. This itinerary should be provided by a Russian travel agency
Double Entry Applicants
If the visa required is a double entry visa, the Embassy requires an intinerary or flight confirmation
Birth Certificate
All applicants under 18 years of age must provide the following additional documents:
- A copy of the birth certificate clearly showing the names of both parents.
Applicants under 18 years of age who are travelling with one parent or are unaccompanied, must additionally provide Declaration of Permission. This declaration must:
- Be written in English
- Declare that the parent(s)/guardian give permission to the minor to travel to this country.
- Be signed in the original by both parents/guardians.
- Issued by the city hall (including a stamp).
